It all starts with a name...

Catherine Painvin considered the snack as a privileged and wonderful moment. The name Tartine et Chocolat was born from this moment of sharing and pleasure specific to childhood.

Because she wanted to wrap her babies in comfort, to dress her children in softness, in chic clothes that don't take themselves too seriously, Catherine Painvin created Tartine et Chocolat in 1977. The tone was set by an exclusive motif, "la Garda, the Tartine et Chocolat stripe". A small revolution that successfully shook up children's fashion and the world of children, by favouring the spirit of beauty.

In the wake of this, the brand took the time to develop its range of products, plush toys, perfume, children's bedrooms, etc., and became the leader in the market for top-of-the-range children's gifts.

In 2004 the Zannier family took over the children's fashion house. Emilie Zannier offers a new and contemporary interpretation of Tartine et Chocolat. She writes the history with a new impulse, inscribing the brand with high standards and originality in a timeless modernity. 

Inspired by French elegance, she pays particular attention to refinement and perfect finishes. She knows how to rediscover the taste of the marvellous to stage new collections distributed at the Galerie Lafayette, Harrod's and internationally: Dubai, Istanbul, Moscow, Shanghai...
